Police are searching for a Louisiana woman who ran over her ex-boyfriend’s new lady friend with her car. Opelousas police have put out an APB on Lakeshia Rideau, of Opelousas, after she ran over the victim early Saturday outside the Crestview Apartments.
According to KLFY News, Rideau spotted her ex-boyfriend returning home after a night out with his new girlfriend. Rideau reportedly floored the gas and struck the victim, before fleeing the scene in a late model brown and tan Nissan Maxima.
Police Chief Martin McClendon said the hit and run occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday. The male companion transported the victim to the hospital in his vehicle.
McClendon said the victim suffered broken bones in her legs and other internal injuries. She is expected to recover but she may need physical therapy.
Rideau is wanted on charges of attempted second-degree murder.
