A 63-year-old North Carolina teacher accused of a sex act with a 17-year-old student killed her husband before shooting herself in a murder-suicide.
Emma Ogle was arrested on Halloween and charged with taking indecent liberties with a student and a crime against nature. Her story went viral on social media, and she was subjected to cruel insults and harassment.
Ogle was a career and technical education (CTE) Health Occupations teacher at Garinger High School in Charlotte when she was arrested.
In addition to being a teacher, Ogle was also a registered nurse.
At 8 a.m. on Wednesday a relative called 911 to report that Ogle had a gun and barricaded herself into her home with her husband.
Police found their bodies inside her home on Hambright Road in Huntersville just after 8 a.m. on Wednesday. Both were dead of single gunshot wounds.
Police say Ogle fatally shot her husband, 59-year-old Michael Ogle, before turning the gun on herself in a murder-suicide.
Michael Ogle’s final Facebook post, dated November 4, was a suicide prevention awareness message, according to Dailymail.com.
