Lizzo is headed home to Houston to dance for the Rockets NBA team following the backlash she received for dancing inappropriately in a thong at a recent Lakers game.
The 31-year-old singer shocked NBA fans when she wore a black t-shirt with the back cut out exposing her abundant cheeks.
Lakers fans complained loudly to the Lakers front office, asking the team to ban Lizzo from the arena.
Wendy Williams was among the critics rebuking the “Good As Hell” singer. Wendy said Lizzo’s disgraceful display was “just wrong.”
“There’s a time and a place for a cut-out and thong showing… maybe a Lizzo show, or the strip club, or a nightclub,” Wendy said during a recent episode of her talk show.
Despite the uproar, the Houston Rockets extended an invitation to Lizzo dance with their cheerleaders, the Clutch City Dancers.
On Dec. 11, the team tweeted: “@Lizzo, we like your moves! You have an open invite to come home to Houston and dance with @OfficialCCD on the court any time!”
Lizzo was born in Michigan and raised in Texas happily accepted the invitation, tweeting: “I’ll be there with bells on my booty.”
In a recent video chat. Lizzo responded to the backlash, telling her fans and critics to kiss her azz and “be blessed.”
“Your criticism has no affect on me,” she said.
“Negative criticism has no stake in my life; no control over my life, over my emotions. I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I’m surrounded by love and I just wanna spread that love and also spread these cheeks. And you know if you really really don’t like my azz, you can kiss it.”
She added:
“I’m not gonna censor myself… I’m not gonna shrink myself because somebody thinks that I’m not sexy to them. (Laughs) Bitch, you really think ’cause somebody on Twitter thinks that I’m not cute, I’m gonna stop existing?”
