A celebrity photographer is suing Damon Dash, his fiancee Raquel Horn (pictured above) and his companies for $50 million over allegations of sexual battery.
Monique Bunn, who is well-known in the music industry as a celebrity photographer, filed a federal lawsuit against Dash, Horn, Damon Dash Studios and Poppington LLC.
According to the lawsuit filed by high-powered attorney Chris Brown and obtained by The Blast:
“In April 2019, Bunn was in contact with Dash and Horn. Dash wanted Bunn, an existing business associate, to meet with him and shoot new [photos] for Poppington and DDS.”
Bunn was flown out to Los Angeles to meet with Dash and Horn. Upon arriving, she immediately began shooting the material under Dash’s direction.
“At the conclusion of the evening Dash and others brought Bunn back to the Dash residence where Bunn was staying… She was told she would be sleeping in Dash’s daughter’s room, according to court documents.
Dash, 48, allegedly entered the bedroom, wearing only a robe and no underwear. He was reportedly intoxicated after “drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana all day.”
Bunn claims she woke up due to “the unauthorized touching by Dash,” and she was able to get Dash’s hands off her breasts and buttocks. Dash asked Bunn “what are you doing?” Bunn responded and said, “I am sleeping” and “I will fight you” to Dash who then left the room.
The documents state Bunn was “angry and frustrated by Dash’s offensive and unwanted touching.” But she continued to stay “at the Dash residence and did not sleep that evening.”
The following day, Bunn accused Dash of telling her he had a deal with WE tv to shoot a documentary-series based on the photographer’s life.
“The reality of the situation is that Dash did not have a deal with WEtv associated with Bunn and only wanted to keep Bunn silent about the events of April 18, 2019.”
Bunn is suing for $50 million in damages as well as the return of her personal photography equipment and hard drives. The hard drives contain photos of Mary J. Blige, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Queen Latifah, MC Lyte, MA$e, Quincy Jones, Teddy Riley, and others.
