British singer Jahna Sebastian lashed out at Alicia Keys in a lengthy Instagram post on Monday. Jahna, who shares 9-year-old daughter Nicole Dean with Alicia’s husband, Swizz Beatz, checked Alicia for “forcing” Nicole to call her “Umi,” which means “Mother” in Arabic.
Jahna also bashed Alicia for allowing Nicole to have her own iPhone – which Jahna believes is inappropriate for a minor child. She said Alicia overstepped her boundaries as a stepparent by registering the minor child on the social media app TikTok.
Jahna noted that only the biological parent – not the stepparent – can register social media accounts for minor children.
“I am speaking up now. There are women in the same position,” Jahna wrote. “Women in general have been constantly told throughout history to not say anything, when there have been issues. This is the time for the truth.”
She continued:
“This is the rule in my family. I am the only Mother to my child. I am the One raising her, who gave her life, British Citizenship, knowledge, and everything else. I am not only the biological mother, I am THE MOTHER.
“This will remain forever. I am the one who feeds her, is raising her, who came out through the hard times with her and for her, taught her to be a great human being and everything about life. I am the Only Mother to my daughter. No one else will be called any kind of ‘mom’ name in English, Arabic, not an ‘Umi’ or anything else in other language by her.”
But rather than sympathize with a mom who thinks her only child is being manipulated by a wealthy celebrity, Alicia’s fans dragged Jahna for filth.
One Instagram user wrote:
“Do not post about Alicia Keys and not expect the fans to blow you up. Your music sucks and so does your makeup. I’d be bitter too if I was you.”
