Sean “Puffy” Combs gave rapper DaBaby the ultimate endorsement on New Year’s Day. Combs, 50, bumped into the “Kirk” rapper outside Club Story in Miami Beach, and told him he was the hottest rapper in the game right now.
Video footage captured the moment between the young rap artist and the aging rap mogul.
DaBaby is best known for his single “Suge”, off his debut studio album, Baby on Baby (2019). “Suge” peaked at no. 7 on the Billboard 100 chart. His 2nd album, Kirk debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
DaBaby’s meteoric rise to the top of the charts made him one of the top rappers in 2019.
Drake, arguably the rapper of the decade, surprised DaBaby by joining him onstage at the Toronto stop of his Kirk tour last month.
“2018, 2017, I used to watch you rep your city,” Drake told DaBaby in a video posted to DaBaby’s Instagram account. “I used to watch you love your city, And look, we don’t say this to each other enough as rappers but I wanna say congratulation. You’re killing this.”
The Internet erupted last month after DaBaby’s fake sex tape went viral on Twitter.com.
The real sex tape was scrubbed from the Internet after being shopped to the blogs.
