Covid-19 survivor Idris Elba wants people to spend a week in “quarantine” every year to remember those lost to the coronavirus.

The “Thor” actor and his wife Sabrina Dhowre Elba have recovered after contracting the potentially deadly disease in New Mexico last month.

To mark the devastating loss of life and mass disruption across the globe, Idris believes people should self-isolate for a week each year to remember the dead.

“I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time,” he tells the Associated Press. “Remember each other. I really do. I think it’s… other species use it. It’s called hibernation. But it does remind you that the world doesn’t tick on your time.”

Idris has been very vocal and outspoken since contracting the virus. He is very grateful to be alive, and he believes coronavirus is a sign of the Seven Prophecies.

“Definitely scary and unsettling and nervous. And I think that’s been like a real collected world experience,” said the actor who missed his six-year-old son Winston‘s birthday because of the lockdown. “You know, everyone’s sort of feeling the way we have been feeling, but it has definitely been sort of just a complete upheaval.”
