Former NBA star Sebastian Telfair lost his mother and brother after they contracted the coronavirus, the New York Times reports.
Erica Telfair, 64, died Monday after Sebastian’s older brother, Dan Telfair, passed away from the virus on March 28.
Former Knicks and Nets guard Stephon Marbury, Sebastian’s cousin, confirmed Dan’s death in an interview with the Undefeated.
At the time, Marbury said Erica had also contracted the disease and was “fighting for her life”.
Sebastian and his younger brother, Ethan Telfair, who played at Lincoln High School and Idaho State, shared their grief on social media.
Sebastian, 34, was the first guard to jump from high school to the NBA. He was drafted 13th overall by the Portland Trailblazers in 2004.
