Alyssa Milano hit back at critics who accused her of wearing blackface makeup in a video from 2013.
Fighting back tears in an interview, the 47-year-old Who’s the Boss? actress and activist denied that she was pretending to be Black by wearing dark makeup the new unearthed video clip.
The anti-Trump star also took to social media to say she was parodying Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi from the reality TV show Jersey Shore (pictured).
“Hey, a–holes. The below picture is me parodying Jersey Shore and Snookie’s tan,” she tweeted on Tuesday, June 30. “Snookie’s tan (she is a sweetheart by the way) is worthy of parodying as is [President Donald] Trump’s ‘tan.’ So go f–k yourselves with your smear campaign.”
She shared a video clip from a 2013 Funny or Die episode, during which Milano was transformed into the 32-year-old reality TV star.
Milano’s skin was darkened and the final image was Photoshopped to imitate Polizzi’s tan.
Polizzi (pictured) was born in Santiago, Chile, but was adopted and raised by Italian-American parents.
She gained instant fame as a cast member on MTV’s popular Jersey Shore, where she was known for her obsession with sun tans and tanning products.
