Frank Ocean‘s younger brother Ryan Breaux died in a fiery car crash early Sunday in Thousand Oaks, California. He was 18.
Ocean, 32, is pictured above sitting alone on a curb overlooking the crash site.
The accident happened on Westlake Boulevard in the early morning hours of Sunday, August 2.
According to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, Breaux was a passenger in a Tesla Sedan that veered off the road and crashed into a tree.
The Tesla’s driver, identified as Breaux’s classmate Ezekial Bishop, also died in the single-car crash.
First responders arrived to find the sedan fully engulfed in flames. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
Photos and video of the fiery wreckage quickly spread on social media.
Ocean was close to his younger brother, who at age 11 appeared on the song “Futura Free” from Ocean’s critically acclaimed 2016 album, Blonde.
Family and friends of both victims took to social media to express their sorrow and condolences.
Paris Brosnan, actor Pierce Brosnan‘s son, wrote a lengthy, emotional tribute to his friend on Instagram:
“To my brother, who was talented beyond belief, possessed a heart of gold, had an energy that was infectious, a smile & laugh that lifted everyone’s spirit, and was a loyal and authentic friend to anyone he knew. You were just getting started and ready to show the world who you were…”
Musician Tre Samuels wrote on Breaux’s last Instagram post: “I’m lost for words. Sending you my love bro.”
“You gave us all love and laughter brother,” wrote Brandon Thomas Lee, son of Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee. “Love you forever. I hope I get to see you again one day.”
