Wendy Williams wants you to know she is doing fine after appearing drowsy and physically unstable on a recent show.
Wendy addressed an ex co-worker’s concerns after DJ Boof suggested that the daytime talk show host might be influenced by drugs and alcohol.
Wendy’s behavior on Friday’s show raised alarms on social media. She was lethargic, slurred her words and took long pauses to collect her thoughts.
Her producers couldn’t hide the concern on their faces.
DJ Boof, who quit as Wendy’s deejay earlier this year, expressed his concern in an Instagram post on Monday, writing: “…this is going to play out bad. I feel sorry for the workers and victims.”
But Wendy insists she is fine and she thanked her fans for continuing to watch. Wendy has been open about her battle with Graves’ disease that caused swelling in her legs (lymphedema) that makes it difficult for her to walk.
“I always say I love you for watching ’cause I really, really do. I come here every day and I try to do the best that I can for you,” she said during her show on Monday. “I appreciate you watching, but even after all of these years, it’s still work. An effort put in for the hour I’m out here, you know? I guess every day is not perfect, but I’m not a perfectionist. I’m not perfect.”
