Music producer Money Jezus is disappointed at the negative comments to his music video featuring a Black male-to-female trans.

In the video, a young man takes his trans lover (Lana Patel) to meet his family members at a BBQ where they unexpectedly welcome Patel with open arms.

Money, aka Desmond South, has worked with the music industry’s top hip-hop artists including Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Jeremih, Nick Jonas, Kodak Black, Verse Simmonds and more.

As record labels work toward a goal of featuring more trans models in place of women in music videos in 2021, Desmond’s inclusive music video is not resonating with some hip-hop fans.

Desmond addressed the negative comments:

“Not surprised at all to see all the hateful ass comments,” he wrote on Youtube. “I know y’all want me to remove this video but it ain’t happening. This is exactly WHY this story needs to be shown.”

A supporter wrote: “This was lovely. Don’t let some of the ignorance in the comment section make you forget that your creation will mean a lot to many people who watch it. Keep on creating because there are many who will keep appreciating.”
