Legendary singer/songwriter, Maxwell, celebrated his 25th anniversary album, Urban Hang Suite, with his very good friend Ryan Cameron on Majic 107.5/97.5 radio in Atlanta on Monday.
They discussed what the album meant at that time, and how it inspired the next generation of R&B.
Maxwell explained why he turned down a Verzuz battle against D'Angelo in March.
Maxwell said it "was a question of timing". He was also dealing with the loss of family members to Covid-19.
"I got love for my brothers and I know that the people needed something. I did my best and my best wasn't able to come through in that way," he said.
"So, I couldn't commit to it at the time, but I'm always open to doing anything I can to bring entertainment to the people that I love and respect who have made my life what it is for sure."
Maxwell told Ryan he got the Covid-19 mRNA vaccine the day before the interview and he's still feeling the effects from the shot.
