Carole Baskin ripped Atlanta stars Sean Combs (left) and Pierre “Pee” Thomas (right) for posing with a caged tiger at the Black Tie Affair for the Quality Control Records CEO on Wednesday night.
Baskin slammed Combs and several other celebs for posing with the caged tiger at Atlanta’s Fox Theater.
Baskin is a big-cat rights activist and CEO of Big Cat Rescue, a non-profit animal sanctuary based near Tampa.
She is best known for her appearance in Netflix’s documentary series Tiger King about Oklahoma-based private zoo operator Joe Exotic.
Even though she wasn’t invited to the party, Baskin claims there are signs that the animal was stressed inside the cage. She says it was a horrible scene for the big cat, according to TMZ.
Invited guests included Combs, Ray J, T.I. & Tiny, Gucci Mane and his wife Keyshia Ka’oir, Lil Baby, Teyana Taylor, 2 Chainz, Bow Wow, Jermaine Dupri, City Girls, and more.
Baskin says the white tiger looked stressed by all the noise and chaos — that’s why it’s pacing and mouth breathing — both signs the cat was not comfortable in the small cage.
Baskin couldn’t fathom why folks would want to “demonstrate dominion over the world’s most magnificent animal” at the party. She says it was clear exploitation and a slap in the face to mother nature.
Carole said the whole scene made partygoers look “impotent, clueless and cruel” to animals.
Baskin also wonders if the tiger was brought in illegally, and she’s urging local authorities to investigate the party.
The Georgia Dept. of Natural Resources would have to issue a permit for the tiger to be displayed.
TMZ reached out to the GDNR, and also to Quality Control Music for comment.
