Derek Fisher is officially off the market. The 46-year-old WNBA coach tied the knot with Gloria Govan on Saturday, July 17, at Cielo Farms in Malibu, PEOPLE reports.
Fisher and Govan got engaged in April 2018 after dating three years. But their wedding date was postponed due to the pandemic.
“We got engaged in 2018, and we eagerly started planning the wedding, but, unfortunately, like many, we had to cancel our big day,” Govan, 36, tells PEOPLE.
“There were times we thought we should have a Zoom wedding instead of waiting but quickly realized our families being a part of the big day was important and our kids, who are just as excited as we are.”
The couple had planned to delay their wedding news until after their honeymoon. However, they changed their minds when rumors swirled that Fisher was creeping with his late pal Kobe Bryant‘s widow, Vanessa Bryant.
Speculation ran wild after photos surfaced that showed Fisher and Bryant sitting together at a WNBA game.
Fisher is the current head coach of the Los Angeles Sparks WNBA team. He coached the New York Knicks from 2014 to 2016 and won 5 NBA Championships as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Govan, 36, settled down with Fisher in 2015 after a bitter divorce from former NBA player Matt Barnes. Govan and Barnes have twin boys named Carter and Isaiah.
Fisher shares four children with Candace Patton, whom he was married to from 2005 until 2015.
