Last month Darius McCrary made blog headlines for all the wrong reasons. The 45-year-old “Family Matters” star went viral for kissing male-to-female trans influencer Sidney Starr at a photo shoot.
In a follow-up video, the actor vigorously denied dating Sidney.
He criticized bloggers for covering the story, and he even dragged his TV mom, Jo Marie Payton, into his mess.
At the conclusion of the video, Darius claimed he was engaged to be married, but he didn’t reveal who the bride-to-be was.
According to Rhymes with Snitch, Darius is engaged to Rick James‘ ex-wife Tanya Hijazi. Rick met the 17-year-old party girl at a nightclub in 1989. They began dating in 1990 and their only child, son Tazman James, was born in 1993.
Trouble soon followed, and the couple was sentenced to prison for kidnapping and torturing a 24-year-old woman during a weeklong drug binge. While out on bail, the couple kidnapped and beat another woman over a 20-hour period.
Despite the red flags and warning signs, they married in 1996 and eventually divorced in 2002.
The “Cold Blooded” “Mary Jane” singer died of natural causes in 2004 at age 56.

Not much is known about Tanya Hijazi. The biracial 49-year-old has worked as a small-time actress and costume designer.
She never remarried and has managed to stay out of the spotlight — until now.
It isn’t clear how she hooked up with Darius, who hasn’t had much luck in the matrimony department either. He was married thrice to women who claimed he assaulted them.
Darius was also jailed in 2015 for failure to pay child support.
