Ricardo Land, the delivery driver who filmed cat-sized rats scurrying up a wall at a Popeyes restaurant, has been fired.
Ricardo lost his job at a company that delivers chicken to Popeyes restaurants in Washington, DC.
He filmed inside one DC location that was infested with large disease-carrying rats.
“Look, gotdamn rats. Look at this sh*t,” he said as he filmed the rats playing tag in the kitchen.
His TikTok video went viral and resulted in a visit from the DC health department, which promptly shut the restaurant down.
Ricardo did a good thing for the residents of DC. No one wants to eat chicken deep-fried in rat droppings.
The unemployed delivery man launched a GoFundMe account to raise money to feed his 5 children.
In the summary, he wrote:
“Hello everyone I have been suspended from my job due to exposure of the Popeyes franchise due to a swarm of rats in the place i have a family of 5 and due to this incident my family will be hurt by my employer I will not be able to afford rent food or any other necessities to keep my home…”
Ricardo later confirmed he was fired from his job.
So far, his GodundMe has raised nearly $18,000 — more than he earns delivering chicken in a year.
