New Edition took on the New Kids On the Block for the Verzuz-style “Battle of Boston” during the 2021 AMAs last night.

NKOTB hit the stage first, performing “You Got It (The Right Stuff).” Their choreography was tight and they didn’t miss a beat.
Then New Edition dazzled the audience with their fancy footwork while singing their smash hit song “Candy Girl” performed by lead vocalist Ralph Tresvant.
NKOTB held their own with “Step By Step” and “Hangin’ Tough,” but NE roared back performing “Can You Stand the Rain.” Then Bobby Brown and Ricky Bell sang “Mr. Telephone Man.”
The two groups got together and performed NE’s hit “Is This the End,” before New Edition segued into “Can You Stand the Rain.”
The two groups ended their first ever battle with hugs and kisses while the crowd cheered.
“It’s a brotherhood from Boston,” New Kids’ Donnie Wahlberg told The Boston Globe. “That’s how we see it.”
Afterwards, the super groups didn’t confirm rumors that they are going out tour together.
