Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Advisor to the President, says Americans should ban unvaccinated family members from Christmas gatherings.

“You may have to make the tough decision not to expose yourself to that person,” he said.

Fauci made the statement on MSNBC’s “The Beat” on Tuesday.

“If someone in your family isn’t vaccinated, should you ask them not to show up?” The MSNBC host asked Fauci.

“Yes, I would do that,” Fauci replied. “I mean I think we’re dealing with a serious enough situation right now that if there’s an unvaccinated person, I would say ‘I’m very sorry, but not this time. Maybe another time when this is all over.'”

Fauci said it’s “unacceptable” that 50 million Americans refuse to get vaccinated.

Studies show vaccinated and unvaccinated people can acquire and spread the coronavirus.
