A New Zealand man got 10 Covid-19 mRNA injections on the same day on behalf of other people who paid him.
The unidentified man visited multiple vaccination centers and received injections and coveted vaccination cards in the names of people who wanted “to enjoy the privileges granted to vaccinated people”.
The man who received 10 doses of mRNA vaccine would likely feel unwell, according to the country’s Ministry of Health.
A health expert called the anti-vaxxers “unbelievably selfish” and said they took advantage of someone in need of money, the New Zealand Herald reported.
New Zealand Ministry of Health vaccine program manager Astrid Koornneef told Stuff that the department was “aware of the issue”.
“We are taking this matter very seriously. We are very concerned about this situation and are working with the appropriate agencies,” she said.
“If you know of someone who has had more vaccine doses than recommended, they should seek clinical advice as soon as practicable,” Koornneef said.
