Minnie has worn her famous red and white polka-dot dress since 1928. Apparently, Disney decided it was time for a change in keeping with the agenda to erase femininity.
The change was met with a mix of outrage and bewilderment on social media.

I think for anyone over the age of say 40, it's about nostalgia. I don't care for the new look myself, but I think it's simply not how I remember Minnie Mouse from my childhood.

I don't like it at all. I prefer the original Minnie Mouse.

Disney replaced Minnie Mouse’s skirt with a pantsuit and the green M&M lost her go go boots. But like why couldn’t they just come out with a new gender nonconforming character or something that’s not just this weird performative middle ground

Are people really getting upset over #MinnieMouse in a pantsuit?
Seriously? It's a cartoon mouse.
If she wanna wear pants, let her.— Bulba_saurus_wreck (@AkimichiSwirls) January 28, 2022
The people bitching about Minnie Mouse need to chill. Honestly. I’m so sorry you feel threatened by a cartoon mouse in a pantsuit, because how dare IP be updated and changed? ? Give me a break.
