Thanks to Lil Nas X‘s success, record labels are pursuing openly gay rappers like Saucy Santana (pictured).
The Love & Hip-Hop: Miami star signed a record deal with RCA Records. Santana, who was previously known as the City Girls‘ makeup artist, is RCA’s latest openly gay rapper. The label signed boy band Brockhampton to a $15 million deal in 2018 “to push the gay agenda.”
Santana, real name Justin Harris, announced the RCA deal on The Breakfast Club. The 28-year-old started rapping in 2019 and uploaded his debut single “Walk Em Like A Dog” to SoundCloud in August of that year.
Santana’s other hit singles include “Material Girl” and “Walk.”

His 2020 single “Walk” went viral in 2021 after being used for the popular TikTok #WalkChallenge. The single earned him a shout out from Nicki Minaj.
Santana was featured as a recurring “friend” on Love & Hip Hop: Miami in 2020.
The Tallahassee rapper and two friends were shot and wounded near a strip club in North Miami in December 2019.
Santana said he may have been targeted because of his flamboyant lifestyle, according to the AP.
He was in Miami scouting locations for a music video when he and his friends decided to hit up The Gentlemen’s Club on 183rd Street.
They were shot as they left the strip club.
