Tyra Banks is moving on from Dancing with the Stars amid rumors that ABC won’t renew her contract.

According to Daily Beast, Tyra is producing a new television series about teenage drag performers titled “Generation Drag” for Discovery+.

Some of the children featured in the series are as young as 13.

“Generation Drag focuses on five kids—Noah, Jameson, Vinny, Bailey, and Nabela—and their families. It traces the leadup to the most important performance of these teens’ young lives at Dragutante, a nonprofit event that allows LGBTQ+ youth to connect with each other, meet mentors in the drag community, and, at the end of the day, stomp the runway in their own performances.”

The news resulted in backlash among Twitter users who say Tyra was “terrible” to contestants on her long-running series “America’s Next Top Model.”

One contestant described her time on the show as “psychological warfare.”

Doctors say transgender youths and others diagnosed with gender dysphoria have a high rate of attempted suicide (over 46%). The public worries that Tyra’s in-your-face criticism may be too difficult for some of the youngsters to handle.

One Twitter user wrote: “She wants to give traumatic experiences to younger people at this point.”

Another user tweeted: “Isn’t the consensus that she’s been terrible to the self esteem of young people from America’s Next Top Model? Now they want to subject teenagers to her?”

And a third person tweeted: “Not her homophobic a*s :| you cannot be serious.”

Tyra does not appear in the trailer below.
