Corrections officer Vicky White has died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, law enforcement officials confirm.
Vicky White died Monday evening in an Evanston, Indiana hospital.
Escaped murder suspect Casey White was taken into custody after a high speed chase in Evanston, Indiana. His accomplice Vicky White was hospitalized after shooting herself.
The two fugitives were found at a hotel and led officers on a chase that lasted “just a few minutes,” according to officials.
At some point during the chase, Vicky White, who was driving a stolen Cadillac, shot herself. The Cadillac overturned and Casey White surrendered to police.

Casey, 38, and Vicky were missing since April 29 when she helped him escape from an Alabama jail where he was waiting trial on a 2015 murder charge.
U.S. Marshals swarmed an Evansville car wash early Monday to investigate a tip about an abandoned pickup truck.
Casey was spotted on surveillance camera footage at the car wash and law enforcement officials closed in on the fugitives.
