Beyonce’s new single “Break My Soul” dropped tonight on Tidal and YouTube. This is standard house music fare. The track isn’t exciting or new.
The single was scheduled for release at midnight, but Beyonce’s camp pulled the trigger early by releasing an official lyric video on YouTube.
Of course, Beyonce’s BeyHive are ecstatic because they don’t know any better. Poor things.
If you heard “Everybody Everybody” by Black Box or “Show Me Love” by Robin S, you’ve heard “Break My Soul.”
Beyonce chose to play it safe by recording a track that pays homage to house music.
Too bad Beyonce wasn’t motivated enough to break new ground musically at age 40.
