Outkast’s Big Boi is back on the market. The 47-year-old rapper finalized his divorce from Sherlita Patton after 20 years of marriage and 2 children.
Legal documents obtained by TMZ show the court entered the final divorce decree in May. Big Boi just filed for the divorce in April. But Sherlita has previously filed for divorce from the rapper, real name Antwan André Patton.
Big Boi also has a son, whom he fathered with a mistress during his marriage to Sherlita.
Big Boi is best known as one half of Grammy-winning hip-hop duo Outkast alongside André 3000.
In his divorce filing, Big Boi said there was “no reasonable hope of reconciliation” and they’d already separated and were living apart for years.
The two agreed to a postnuptial agreement in 2016, and more recently agreed to a confidential financial settlement.
As part of the divorce, they agreed there would be no mudslinging or making threats of “injury, maltreating, molesting, harassing, harming, or abusing” in any way shape or form.
As TMZ reported, Sherlita filed for divorce from the rapper back in 2013 after multiple episodes of infidelity and at least one outside child.
She demanded financial support and full custody of their two children – son Cross and daughter Jordan. But they later reconciled and agreed to an amicable marriage.
At the time, Big Boi gave all the glory to God.
