Prince Harry and his American wife, Meghan Markle, were booed as they left the National Service of Thanksgiving for The Queen’s reign at Saint Paul’s Cathedral in London on Friday, June 3.

The Thanksgiving service was part of Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee, officially celebrating her 96th birthday and marking her 70th year on the throne as Britain’s ruling monarch.

Her Majesty was not in attendance because of “some discomfort” after attending the Trooping of the Colour ceremony in London on June 2.

Over 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses, a dozen fighter jets, and 400 musicians participated in the traditional parade.

Prince Harry and Meghan made their first official public appearance since arriving back in the UK after stepping away from their royal duties in pursuit of fame in America.

The crowd cheered as the couple arrived at Saint Paul’s Cathedral, along with other members of the royal family.

The reaction of the crowd was noticeably different when Harry and Meghan left the church alone.

Prince Harry grit his teeth and waved as a smattering of polite cheers turned into a sea of boos that could be heard over the loud ringing of the church bells (watch the video below).

The former actress wore a cream monochrome outfit with matching hat, closed-toe pumps, and gloves. Prince Harry wore a traditional long sports coat and gray slacks. The Platinum Jubilee events continue in London through June 5.
