Doja Cat lashed out at actor Noah Schnapp a day after the 17-year-old “Stranger Things” star shared her private direct messages on TikTok.
Noah reportedly posted their private conversation after the 26-year-old singer DM’d the teenager asking him to set her up with his Stranger Things co-star Joseph Quinn, 29.
The DM read: “Noah can u tell Joseph to [hit me up]. wait no. does he have a gf?”
Noah responded, “LMAOO slide into his dms,” but she replied, “[I don’t know] his IG or twitter he doesn’t have a DM to slide into”.
Noah then provided Quinn’s Instagram handle for her.
On Wednesday Noah posted a TikTok video that showed private DMs between him and Doja, real name Amala Dlamini (She turns 27 in October).
Doja took to Instagram Live on Thursday to call out the teenager for posting her private messages publicly. She called his betrayal “borderline snake s**t.”
Doja was quick to say she didn’t want her fans to attack Schnapp because he is “just a kid.”
Doja, a grown woman, placed the blame entirely on the boy.
She said it was “socially unaware” for Noah to share their private conversation online.
In her video, Doja said, “I’m just gonna say something right now, about the whole f***ing Noah Schnapp thing.”
“I think that… to be fair, let’s try to be chill about it. Like Noah is a kid, but, I don’t even know how old he is, but he can’t be over – like there’s no way he’s over 21. But when you’re that young, you make mistakes. You do dumb s**t. I’m like trying to be super fair. You do dumb s**t, you say dumb s**t, you f***ing, f**k up relationships with people. You make mistakes.”
She continued:
“Like you’re supposed do that so that you know you’re not supposed to do that in the future. I did my share of f**k ups so that I don’t f**k up again.
“But the fact that Noah did that, like went and posted a private conversation between me and him is so unbelievably socially unaware and whack. That’s like borderline snake s**t, that’s like weasel s**t.
“And I’m not saying that that encapsulates his entire personality – like I don’t imagine Noah that way. Maybe he is, like a whole snake. But I didn’t see him that way.
“I made an assumption that he was gonna be chill about it and he went and shared information that I didn’t feel comfortable with him sharing.”
Neither Noah nor Joseph have responded to Doja’s rant.
In 2020 Doja was dragged by Black Twitter after she was caught joking with racist white men in a video chatroom.
Doja, who is mixed race, took to social media to deny being racist.
“I’m a black woman. Half of my family is black from South Africa and I’m very proud of where I come from,” she said.
