California farmers are sounding the alarm on the tomato shortage that is affecting consumer needs around the country.
Ketchup packets were the first to disappear from fast food restaurants as record-high inflation and drought limited the tomato supply.
“The number-one thing that we say is that water is the ‘it’ thing when it comes to growing tomatoes,” California farmer Mitchell Yerxa told Fox & Friends. “If you don’t have enough of it, you can’t get the crop you need.”
