President Joe Biden said he fully supports the rights of children to have sex change surgeries.

Biden made the statement during an interview with TikTok trans activist Dylan Mulvaney, who is transitioning to a seven-year-old girl.

Mulvaney, 25, participated in a panel discussion with other influencers at the White House on Friday. The segment aired on Sunday.

Biden said that he doesn’t think states should have the right to restrict sex change surgeries or “gender-affirming treatments” for children.

When Mulvaney asked if states should regulate gender-affirming treatments, Biden said “I don’t think any state or anybody should have the right to do that. As a moral question and as a legal question, I just think it’s wrong.”

“Sometimes they try to block you from being able to access certain medicines, being able to access certain procedures, and so on,” Biden said, referring to Republican bills that block doctors from performing surgeries on minors.

Biden said Republicans should not prevent children from seeking gender-affirming surgeries or puberty blocking medications at any age.

He added: “I mean, no state should be able to do that, in my view. So I feel very, very strongly that you should have every single solitary right including use of your gender-identity bathrooms in public.”
