Rihanna serves country music vibes with her second ballad off the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Soundtrack titled “Born Again.”

The pop singer dropped “Born Again” at midnight on Friday. The new track is receiving mixed reviews on YouTube.

Fans were ecstatic to hear new music from the first-time mom. But the new ballad is a departure from her usual upbeat, dance tracks.

“Born Again” comes a few weeks after Rihanna’s first song in six years, “Lift Me Up,” off the Wakanda Forever soundtrack.

Both songs are tributes to the late actor Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020, and the demise of his Black Panther character, T’Challa.

Writer/director Ryan Coogler decided not to re-cast T’Challa’s character. Instead, he made actress Letitia Wright T’Challa’s successor.

Wright plays Shuri, the younger sister of T’Challa, who takes up the mantle as Wakanda’s protector.

The movie also stars Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, newcomer Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, and Angela Bassett as Wakanda’s Queen mother.

Wakanda Forever opens in theaters today, November 11.
