Atlanta Hawks sports announcer Bob Rathbun suffered a medical emergency while announcing an Atlanta Hawks game on Monday night.

Rathbun was working alongside Hawks legend Dominique Wilkins when he suffered a seizure and appeared to lose consciousness. The camera quickly cut away to a wide shot of the court.

Rathbun’s rep sent a statement to Inside Edition, saying, the 68-year-old announcer “briefly lost consciousness on the court… Emergency medical professionals on-site quickly treated Rathbun for dehydration.”

Rathbun was admitted to a local hospital for observation. He was discharged home on Tuesday.

Bally Sports officials told TMZ, Bob Rathbun’s tests have all come back “very favorable” — and he’s “in great spirits.”

A seizure is not a typical symptom of dehydration. Signs and symptoms of dehydration include dry mouth, dizziness, weakness, light-headedness, rapid heart rate, increased respirations, decreased urine output, and constipation.

Video of Rathbun’s medical emergency went viral on social media last week.

Twitter users were skeptical of the rep’s explanation that Rathbun was “dehydrated.”
