Rapper Boosie Badazz has advice for drug addicts after Gangsta Boo became the first fentanyl-related death of a rapper in the New Year.
Boo, real name Lola Mitchell, 43, was found deceased on her front porch in Memphis, Tennessee on Sunday, Jan. 1. She died hours after her brother was taken to a hospital after suffering a fentanyl overdose on New Year’s Eve in Memphis.
Boosie was among many hip-hop stars paying tribute to Gangsta Boo. He also had some advice for rappers who are drug addicts.
“There’s too many people dying in 2022 of fentanyl. If you’re gonna be an addict, you might need to go back to crack,” he said in a video.
Boosie theorized that crack cocaine was safer because fewer rappers died while smoking it.
“Crackheads live longer than anybody. You still see them around! That fentanyl sh-t is way stronger. If you can’t shake it, go back to crack. You’re gonna be funnier, you’re gonna live longer.”
According to the NIH, fentanyl and other synthetic opioids are the most common cause of drug overdose deaths in America.
