Canadian rapper Drake surprised a popular YouTuber by joining him on a FaceTime call.
The 36-year-old rapper joined 18-year-old Speed, real name Darren Watkins Jr., for a video call on his YouTube channel IShowSpeed.
“I’m proud of you,” said Drake, as the youngster expressed his excitement.
“Yo! You look great right now,” Speed told Drake.
“I got a lot of love for you boy. I was talking about you in the car the other day,” Drake said.
It seemed the lovefest between Drake and the teenager was growing. But then the mood changed abruptly when Speed said, “Bro, your voice is so sexy. How your voice smooth like that?”
Drake quickly hung up without comment, resulting in Speed throwing down his headphones and flying into a rage.
“He’s not gonna answer the phone again,” Speed said with regret. “I meant to say his voice is smooth. I said it wrong. On god, I said it wrong.”
Some of Speed’s fans said the rapper is “homophobic.” But Drake has battled gay rumors for nearly his entire career. None of the rumors were ever confirmed. Still, that doesn’t stop gay men from trying him.
More than 50,000 viewers tuned in during the nearly 3-minute call. Speed is a gamer and influencer with over 20 million subscribers on all of his channels combined.
