Singer Omarion addressed a “catfish” victim who truly believed she was engaged to him. The woman named Simone appeared on an episode of Dr. Phil, titled “Am I really engaged to superstar entertainer Omarion?”

Simone said she never met Omarion because his “manager” demanded a $3,000 fee to set up the meeting with him.

She claimed she spoke with Omarion by phone for months and that they were engaged since October 2020. She said the singer bought her an engagement ring which he kept and promised to give her when they met.

Omarion’s manager Michelle Le Fleur, CEO of Omarion Worldwide, appeared on Dr. Phil to clear Omarion of any wrongdoing.

Then Omarion himself appeared via closed circuit TV to share an important message with Simone and his fans.

“It’s crazy how far these people will go to convince and manipulate my fans to think that they are actually speaking with me,” he said.

Omarion apologized to Simone, saying, “I’m so sorry Simone. I haven’t been speaking with you online and we are not in a relationship.”

Omarion took to Instagram after the show aired.

“Be smart family,” he wrote. “So many people have stories saying they spoke with me online. I don’t take advantage of people. I respect and appreciate people who support me.”

Omarion is best known as the lead singer of the boy band B2K. Their hit singles include “Gots ta Be”, “Uh Huh”, “Girlfriend”, and the number-one hit “Bump, Bump, Bump”.

The 38-year-old father-of-2 dated his baby mama Apryl Jones, 36, from 2013 to 2016. She is now in a committed relationship with actor Taye Diggs, 52.
