When Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant was suspended for flashing a gun in a video, fans roasted him for pretending to be a gangster.

NBA fans mocked the 23-year-old point guard for trying to make it out of the NBA and into the streets.

However, Bronx rapper Fat Joe blamed Ja’s father, Tee Morant, for being a poor role model to his troubled son.

Tee, pictured with Las Vegas Aces star Chelsea Gray, missed his chance to play in the NBA when he found out his wife was pregnant with Ja. He supported his family by becoming a barber.

Fat Joe noted that Tee travels everywhere with his son and is known for his drunken antics at his son’s games.

“Ja Morant always got his father there. Instead of his father enjoying the scene and getting drunk at the game, he better school his son,” Joe said.

“I don’t care how nice he is… Nobody’s bigger than the game,” Joe said. “They will f***ing disappear his as* and have him doing his thing in Turkey. He’ll be in Turkey. He’ll be in Taiwan. He will not be playing in the NBA.”

“Bro, you did not come this far to f*ck your sh*t up,” Joe added. “Your family has to really be your family and talk to you. I hope somebody gets him a copy of this because I don’t make money off Ja Morant. I’m just telling you the truth.”

Joe continued: “There’s two ways this could go: you could keep it real, which is the dumbest sh*t I ever heard in my life and go broke and get the f*ck out the NBA because they’re not going for a NBA player pistol whipping dudes — they not going for that.”

Joe referenced reports that Ja punched a 17-year-old boy and threatened him with a gun at a pickup basketball game at his home last summer.

Ja will miss 4 more games while the NBA investigates reports that he sneaked a gun on the team plane.

Denver police dropped their investigation into the gun incident. Police said no one was threatened with the gun and they couldn’t find the weapon.

Ja is expected to return to the Grizzlies at the end of this month.
