Floyd Mayweather Jr.’s personal assistant, Marikit “Kitchie” Laurico died suddenly on Friday, March 31, after feeling ill the day before. She was 47.
Initial reports are that she died of natural causes after suffering a heart attack.
Kitchie was considered Mayweather’s confidant and business partner. They traveled the world together and she handled every aspect of his life.
The news was first reported on social media on Friday afternoon. Mayweather has not yet commented on Kitchie’s passing.
Kitchie emigrated from the Philippines at age 11. She later studied marketing and public relations in college.
Kitchie met Mayweather by chance and he asked her to be his personal assistant and marketing manager of TMT (The Money Team).
Tributes have been pouring in for Kitchie on social media.
One person tweeted:

Literally just messaged with Kitchie this past Sunday….
We had this thing in which I’d say “Hey Hall of Famer!” and she would immediately LAUGH and Smile as Kitchie always did. So cool.
