Police and medics responded to a call that a child had fallen into a pool at Barrett’s home in the Beach Park neighborhood in south Tampa shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Their efforts to revive the toddler were unsuccessful. She was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Tampa Bay police said no foul play is suspected.

“The investigation is ongoing. It is not believed to be suspicious in nature at this time, but a purely accidental and tragic incident.”
