Rick Ross expressed frustration over his neighbors filing petitions to cancel his upcoming Car & Bike Show.

Ross responded to the protests in an Instagram post. He said he is not surprised that his neighbors are trying to block his money.

“I wouldn’t even feel right if they [weren’t] boycotting the boss, because I never got nothing easy. It was never handed to me. I would be confused if they just let me get the money. When everybody else just met big rich producers and got record deals and got rich, Ricky Rozay had to do it another way. So, I would be confused if they [weren’t] boycotting the boss.”

In a previous video post, Ross said some vendors paid $25,000 for a prime spot on his front lawn.

He’s also charging $350 for tickets to the car show and concert to be held on June 3 at his home.

Ross hired the Nation of Islam to provide security last year. Over 6,000 people attended last year’s car show and concert.

Neighbors who live near Ross’ mansion filed a petition with the Fayette County Board of Commissioners to stop this year’s event.

Members of the Northridge subdivision signed petitions objecting to the traffic and noise that Ross’ Car and Bike Show, plus concert, brings to their neighborhood on Highway 279.

Neighbors met with the county commissioners and filed their petitions.

“I have the petitions here that we signed,” one neighbor told the board during the meeting Tuesday.

“Our quality of life was unnecessarily compromised,” another neighbor said.

Others said the event caused massive problems last year.

One neighbor said Ross’ mansion isn’t zoned for a car show and concert. They said the traffic gridlock blocked access to and from their homes.

“We feel locked out. It took me 40 minutes to get out of my subdivision,” one homeowner said.

Ross plans to go ahead with his car and bike show on June 3, despite the neighbors’ objections. Rapper Lil Wayne will headline the concert.

Neighbors are concerned that 10,000+ people will attend this year’s car and bike show. One neighbor said she plans to go away for a few days if the event is not canceled.
