Ayesha Curry regrets appearing on an episode of Jada Pinkett Smith’s “Red Table Talk” web series in 2019. She claims the episode was later “edited” to make her “sound crazy.”
Ayesha appeared in the episode with her mother-in-law, Sonya, and Red Table Talk co-hosts Jada, daughter Willow Smith and mom Adrienne “Gammy” Banfield-Norris.
In an interview with Insider, Ayesha said she was vulnerable and insecure about her marriage at the time of her appearance.
The 34-year-old cookbook author had given birth to her only son, Canon, the year before the episode aired. She was still feeling the postpartum blues.
Ayesha acknowledged she may have gotten too personal during her appearance on “Red Table Talk,” but the episode “was edited in a way that made me sound crazy.”
“It’s not what I said, and the context was weird. Yeah. I took that one personally,” she added.
Ayesha talked about the attention her husband received from women in his Instagram DMs – which she patrols like a guard dog.
Ayesha revealed she knows her husband’s passwords on every social media app.
Ayesha also complained that men didn’t slide into her DMs with the same urgency.
“There are all these women, like, throwing themselves (at Steph), but me, like the past 10 years, I don’t have any of that. I have zero male attention. And so then I begin to internalize it, and I’m like, ‘Is something wrong with me?'”
She said it “irks” her nerves when women leave lustful messages for Stephen in his social media apps. She routinely confronted women in his DMs, letting them know they are communicating with her — not Stephen.
“Stephen is very nice by nature, and he’s very talkative,” Ayesha says. “Everything is always very friendly and sometimes to the point where I’m like, ‘I’m a grown woman, so I’ll just insert myself.’ I’ll be like, ‘Hello. How are you doing?'”
“The ladies will always be lurking, hoping for their moment and waiting. But, for me, I honestly hate it,” Ayesha said.
Ayesha also shares daughters Riley, 10, and 7-year-old Ryan with Stephen, 35.
