Eva Marcille shared a “good” update about her divorce from local politician and businessman Michael Sterling.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s alum announced she was filing for divorce at the end of March.
“This has been one of the hardest decisions I have ever had to make, but sometimes life takes your journey in a direction you were not expecting,” Eva told PEOPLE at the time. “Our children remain our biggest priority, and the eight and half years we have spent together will always be cherished. We ask that you respect our privacy at this time.”
The 38-year-old Los Angeles native reportedly filed for divorce after she found out her husband was allegedly cheating on her. But sources say they both stepped out on their marriage.
Fast forward 3 months. Eva shared an update during an interview with ET on the red carpet at the BET Awards on June 25.
“Today’s a good day, yeah, today’s a good day,” Eva said. “Every day you gotta figure it out. But today’s a good day, and my kids are good.”
Eva and Michael share three children: 4-year-old Michael Sterling Jr., 3-year-old Maverick Sterling, and Eva’s 9-year-old daughter, Marley Rae, from a previous relationship.
“My babies are great,” Eva added. “They’re getting big! Too big. I want them to stay small! My daughter’s tall… She’s 9 now, she’s doing algebra over the summer, I’m like, ‘What is going on?!'”
Fans also asked “What is going on?” when they saw Eva on the red carpet. Fans wondered if she was sick because she’s painfully thin. Eva wore a sparkly bra and cheetah print pants on the red carpet.
The mom of three says she’s fine. She’s working out, dieting and eating healthy food to stay in good shape for her kids.
“I have a great schedule, I have a great team, and honestly, I keep God first,” she said. “I let him order my steps. He has plans for me that are way bigger, that are plans for me to do nothing but make me great, so I just follow where God’s taking me.”
Eva is set to appear in Season 4 of “The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.”
