An aspiring designer is accusing Louis Vuitton’s new creative director Pharrell Williams of ripping off her Louis Vuitton bag concept.
Pharrell recently debuted his new LV line in Paris, France. Power couple Beyonce and Jay Z were on hand to support Pharrell.
According to The Jasmine Brand, an up-and-coming designer named Kellie Ford recently took to TikTok to accuse Pharrell of ripping off her design concept.
Back in 2021, Kellie went viral for her video tutorial on turning a Louis Vuitton shopping bag into a purse. The video received over 10 million views on Twitter.
Now, Kellie is accusing Pharrell of stealing her LV shopping bag concept and featuring it in his new Louis Vuitton fashion line.
“Fast forward to 2023, and under Pharrell’s creative direction for Louis Vuitton they dropped what looks like is the bag. Yeah, its crazy,” she said in a TikTok video.
Kellie added that a “one-time collaboration” with LV would be “life changing” for young creatives like her.
So far, Pharrell has not responded to the allegations. But his fans had plenty to say about Kellie using LV’s shopping bag rather than create her own original design.
One viewer wrote: “Nah. They could literally sue you for making a profit off them without authorization.”
Another person wrote: “Ma’am. I remember them bags… very cute. But let’s be serious. That’s their name u were using.”
A third Tiktok user wrote: “They made a leather version of their own shopping bag. They don’t wrap it in plastic.”
