Beyonce’s half-brother Nixon Knowles wonders why she refuses to meet him, according to the boy’s mother, Alexsandra Weight.
14-year-old Nixon is the son of Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles. Mathew, 71, fathered Nixon while still married to Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson. He also has a young daughter born out of wedlock.
After breaking up with Mathew, Alexsandra fell on hard times and filed bankruptcy before moving into a mobile home in 2014.
Beyonce never reached out to help her younger brother financially and she has never made an effort to meet him.
“She is a billionaire and just bought the most expensive house in California, ten miles from where we live. But no, there has not been any contact,” Alexsandra said in an exclusive interview.
“The pain still needs to heal. My main concern has been dealing with a child that asks, ‘Why doesn’t that person love me?'”
It’s hard for Alexsandra to raise her son without a father.
“I sit in the bathroom and cry sometimes because I just don’t know how to help him be his own person,” she told The Sun.
According to The Sun, Alexsandra breaks down and cries while listening to one of Beyonce’s songs, titled “Ring Off,” which tells the story of Mathew’s infidelities.
Beyonce sings:
-
“Mama, I understand your many sleepless nights
When you sit and you think about Father
Or how you tried to be the perfect wife
You used to dress and fix your hair
Then you smiled through your tears
In the mirror, you would stare
And say a prayer
Like, ‘I wish he said I’m beautiful
I wish it didn’t hurt at all
I don’t know how I got here
I was once the one who had his heart.'”
“If you listen to Ring Off, it’s the story,” Alexsandra said. “It makes me cry for them because everyone is in pain and there has been so much sadness.”
Alexsandra, 52, and her son lived in a 2-bedroom mobile home – until her good friend, actress Shar Jackson took them in.
It wasn’t until 2017 that Alexsandra was able to move out and rent her own apartment.
Earlier this year, Alexsandra and Nixon moved into a 5-bedroom house in an LA suburb, according to The Sun.
Alexsandra is sad that her son will never meet his famous sibling.
“I tell him, ‘fame does not equal happiness’ so never covet what someone else has,'” she said.
“But it’s hard to see people living as billionaires. What does that kid think when I am working 16 hours a day and trying to get accounts paid? How does it feel?”
Alexsandra doesn’t blame Beyonce for not coming around. Beyonce still hasn’t met Jay Z’s other sons.
“I think Beyonce is a lovely person and she has never done anything to harm me,” Alexsandra said.
