Jazmine Sullivan’s mother Pam Sullivan lost her battle with breast cancer over the weekend. The R&B singer announced her mother’s passing in an Instagram post on Monday (July 24).

Jazmine shared a B&W photo of Pam Sullivan as a little girl.

She captioned the post: “I don’t have the words yet mommy. So for now I’ll say thank you thank you thank you. Rest now butterfly.”

Mother and daughter attended the Time 100 Gala together last year. Jazmine told Hello Beautiful:

“My mother is my biggest influencer – she’s actually here today. She is battling breast cancer for the second time, and I am really happy to have her be here. She has encouraged me and influenced me since I was born. So, I am so happy to she is here.”

Jazmine first announced her mother’s breast cancer diagnosis in a post dated May 10, 2020. She shared a tribute to her mom in a photo gallery on Instagram.

“To my mommy, my world @mspamjoi Since I was a kid I watched you turn nothing into something over and over again,” she wrote in the caption. “Seeing potential in the things people deemed as trash, and leaving everything u touched more beautiful than u found it.”

“Late October 2019 our world was flipped upside down when U were diagnosed w IBC (inflammatory breast cancer). our days were no longer filled w convos of u telling me to hurry up and finish my project, but of chemo treatments and hospital visits. Shit got real, Fast. But if being your daughter has taught me one thing it is how to work w something ugly, painful even, and make it a work of art.”
