Update 2: There is some confusion about the location in the White House where cocaine was found over the 4th of July holiday weekend.
The Secret Service says the substance was found in a “cubby hole” at an entry in the West Wing of the White House on Sunday.
However, the NY Post reported the cocaine was found in the White House library.
And MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell said that a “small dime-sized bag” of cocaine was found in the White House library. Mitchell expressed shock that cocaine was found in Biden’s White House.
“I can’t even fathom anything like this having been found before in the West Wing,” Mitchell said on Wednesday.
Parts of the White House were briefly evacuated while an emergency HAZMAT team rushed in to collect and identify the substance.
“We have a yellow bar stating cocaine hydrochloride,” a DC firefighter stated at 8:49 p.m. on Sunday, according to The Post.
According to The Washington Post, the cocaine was found in a cubby hole on the ground floor of the West Wing where members of the public are asked to leave their phones before taking a tour of the White House.
However, Routers stated the cubby hole is in a “working area” of the West Wing where only administrative staff, their guests and members of the press have access.
Administration officials can invite friends and family members to tour parts of the West Wing that members of the public don’t have access to.
Biden family members who are visiting the President enter and exit through the East Wing, a source told Reuters.
Meanwhile, a video showing Hunter Biden acting nervous on a White House balcony is going viral on Thursday. Hunter appears to be agitated and perspiring heavily in the video.
Another video shows Hunter walking away while rubbing his nose.

Update, July 5, 2023 at 6:22 p.m.: A baggie of cocaine discovered in the White House library on Sunday was found in a “cubby hole” used by White House staff and visitors for their cell phones.
The library is part of the public tour that is visited by hundreds of people a day. The cubby hole is located in a “work area” of the West Wing.
According to Reuters, the cubby hole is in the entry area of the West Wing where visitors place cell phones and other belongings before taking a tour.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claims a “visitor” left the cocaine in the cubby hole. She didn’t explain how a visitor managed to smuggle a baggie of cocaine powder into the most secure building in Washington, D.C.
Possession of a recreational amount of cocaine is a misdemeanor in Washington, D.C. Jean-Pierre did not indicate the amount of cocaine that was found.
The powder tested positive for cocaine, but the baggie wasn’t tested for fingerprints.
Investigators are scouring surveillance footage and visitor logs to find the culprit.
The powder was found 2 days after the President and his son Hunter, a recovering drug addict, departed for Camp David to celebrate the 4th of July weekend.
Hunter, his wife Melissa Cohen and their son Beau Biden are seen returning to Washington, D.C. on Sunday (July 2).
The Secret Service launched an investigation to determine who left the powder in the library.
The Biden family’s living quarters is two floors above the library.
President Biden ignored shouted questions from reporters after a barbecue for active-duty military families in honor of the 4th of July on the South Lawn of the White House on Tuesday.
FYI: An earlier version of this post incorrectly stated the cocaine was discovered on July 4.
