A Burbank, California mayor vented at a Twitter/X user who shared video that shows him being paddled by a drag queen.
Burbank Mayor Konstantine Anthony, a Democrat, was paddled by a drag queen at a campaign fundraiser over the weekend.
Cell phone video was shared on Twitter/X by the conservative account @LibsofTikTok who claimed Mayor Anthony was spanked in front of children.
However, the mayor insisted there were no children at the event.
“No children were in attendance,” Anthony told Fox News. “All attendees were over 21 years of age.”
The advertisement by “Drag Queen Bingo” host Roxxy Wood stated the event was open to teens “age 15 and over,” but the event was “not suitable for children.”
Mayor Anthony received some backlash during a City Council meeting on Tuesday. Anthony was told to keep his personal life personal.
But Anthony said the public paddling was all in fun and not intended to be offensive.
“I come from a very silly performance background,” he said. “To me, what is goofy and normal to other folks seems inappropriate. That’s not their fault. That’s mine. I need to learn that line.”
