Fans of Jeezy and Jeannie Mai are happy to hear that the rapper and TV host are still living together and working on their marriage.
Jeezy, 46, filed for divorce in Fulton County, Georgia, on Sept. 15 while Jeannie, 44, was out of town. Jeannie travels frequently for work and is often on the West Coast filming projects.
In his divorce paperwork, Jeezy said the marriage was “irretrievably broken” and there was “no hope for reconciliation.”
The former co-host of “The Real” was reportedly “devastated” and blindsided when she learned about the divorce filing at the same time we did.
She dropped everything and flew home to try and save her marriage.
But some sources claim the “divorce” is a stunt to promote Jeezy’s new book.
Sources told TMZ that Jeezy and Jeannie are still living under the same roof with her mother and brother, but they hardly speak to each other. The house is large enough with room for all 4 adults and a toddler to co-exist peacefully.
Jeezy told friends that Jeannie is “overbearing” and has anger management issues. Jeannie admitted she didn’t know she had a temper until she met Jeezy.
In a 2021 episode of the “Lovers and Friends” podcast, Jeannie said, “I didn’t notice that I had a hot temper until I got with Jeezy.”
Jeannie blamed Jeezy for not telling her to fix her temper.
Others close to Jeezy say Jeannie resisted his requests to make his favorite soul food dishes. She prefers to cook her favorite Vietnamese food. Jeannie was born in California, but her parents are both Vietnamese natives.
A source later told Entertainment Tonight that the divorce was due to differing opinions on “certain family values and expectations.”
“[Jeannie] deeply loves Jeezy, and she wants to work things out. She did not get married to get divorced,” the insider added.
“This is not how she ever imagined things would go down.”
