Update, Sept. 15, 2023 at 9:26 AM:
Tory Lanez reportedly referred to a court reporter as a “googly eyed b*tch” during the final minutes of his bond hearing on Thursday.
Legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff tweeted that she didn’t hear the insult herself, but others in the courtroom heard him say it.
“I didn’t hear it and I’m still working to see if transcript has it, but I’ve confirmed Tory Lanez chose to use his final courtroom moments to profanely insult me, calling me ‘a googly eyed bitch’ as he looked at gallery,” she wrote.
“Conflicting reports on whether he named me. A fitting end.”

Cuniff, who has been a constant presence throughout the trial, questioned whether Tory’s attorney Jose Baez had his client’s best interests at heart after posting photos from his trip to Italy on Instagram Stories late last month.
Via Complex.com – Cuniff pointed out that Baez stated he planned on filing a motion to seek bail for Lanez more than two weeks before he posted those [vacation] photos and nothing had been filed. Baez responded by referring to the reporter as a blogger, and claiming she “has had a clear bias against Tory and has attacked everyone associated with him as well as made numerous inaccurate assumptions.”
Los Angeles Judge David Herriford denied Tory’s motion for bail on Thursday. The rapper hoped to be released on bond so he could live with his six-year-old son and take the boy to school every day.
According to TMZ, Tory retained the services of Unite The People, a nonprofit that provides defense attorneys to folks who are strapped for cash. Tory previously donated $50,000 to the organization. One of their attorneys represented him in Thursday’s hearing.
Ceasar McDowell, the CEO of Unite the People, tells TMZ that Tory still has hope he will be released on bond because it’s “all in God’s plan.”
Ceasar says Tory is focused on filing an emergency motion to try and reverse the judge’s ruling.
Ceasar added that Tory believes a higher court will be more receptive to him than the trial court judge who issued Thursday’s ruling.
Tory was sentenced to 10 years in prison in August for shooting fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion in both feet in 2020.
The Canadian rapper has been held in jail since December 2022.
In his motion, Tory called Megan a “friend” and “someone I still care for dearly to this day, regardless of what she may think of me.”
He continued: “We both lost our mothers. We would sit there and drink, and drink until we got numb. I said some very immature things that I shouldn’t have said. I revealed some secrets that I shouldn’t have revealed.”
“Upon release, Mr. Peterson will maintain his sobriety, and have no contact with the victim nor shall he or any of his associates,” the motion stated.
