Meek Mill called for Philadelphia OGs to help solve the senseless murder of a 12-year-old boy whose body was found in a dumpster last week.

The rapper called for the “old heads” of Philly to “fight back” after Hezekiah Bernard was found shot to death in a dumpster at a housing project on Cherry Street.

A Philadelphia Housing Authority sanitation worker discovered the body wrapped in plastic and a blanket. He had a single gunshot wound to the head.

The boy was not in custody of the Department of Human Services at the time of his murder, ABC 6 Action News reports. That conflicts with earlier reports that he was in DHS care.

“Again Mr. Bernard was 12 years old. He was brutally killed and placed in a trash can. The focus is the apprehension of those involved in the senseless death,” said Staff Inspector Ernest Ransom during a press conference on Thursday.

Among those grieving Bernard’s death is rapper Meek Mill who shared an image of a dumpster on his Instagram page.

“They playing so ruthless in Philly,” he wrote, “the self hatred level on 1000 degrees with blacks. They need to let us fight this sh*t back. Me and the old heads can clear some of this sh*t up.”

The Philadelphia native continued: “We need the jails behind us too so it’s no escaping! The wrong women or child get killed I don’t think we will be able to turn back ..”

He concluded, “Can black people still come together besides a rap concert or sports? We looking terrible.”
