Actor Curtiss Cook is today’s Morning Wood Holiday edition. Mr. Cook, 55, is known for his roles in House of Cards, Shutter Island, Chicago Med, Luke Cage, West Side Story, The Chi, Pose, and more.
Cook studied acting at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. After graduating from college, Cook appeared on Broadway in The Lion King and Miss Saigon.
Cook divorced his wife after she confessed that she didn’t want to be mother to their three children. In short order, Cook was a single father with three hungry mouths to feed.
In an interview with Forbes, Cook recalled ordering pizza for his kids. He heard a knock on the front door and when he went to open it, he found the marshal standing there with an eviction notice. He and his children were being kicked out of their apartment, effective immediately.
“That was a rough, rough day,” said Cook.
